Midhurst Museum has 5 Trustees:

Peter and Gillian Nightingale

Peter is a retired Police Inspector. He and Gill moved to Midhurst in 2008 and having failed to find a local museum, they opened one in Knockhundred Market.

Peter has previously been a member of the Sussex Police and Crime Panel, a member and Past President of the local Rotary Club and Past District Governor. He is also involved with other local charities.

Gill started her professional career as a nurse and then midwife before getting married and moving to Zambia where her daughter and son were born. After returning home and the birth of another son, she returned to nursing and in her spare time, took up riding again. She is also a member of Inner Wheel and has held office at both Club, District and Association levels.

Peter and Gill enjoy visiting their extended family and are often seen disappearing on very long walks.

David Rudwick

Dave is Midhurst personified. His family have been in the town since the late 1800s/early 1900s. The site of the Museum is the site where his great grandfather, then his two boys used to run a taxi service Job Master back in the early 1900s. He has seen and photographed many changes in Midhurst over the years. He has worked at Pendean Care Home for over 50 years.

Alain Mardle

Alain has lived in Midhurst since 2001 where he runs a small accountancy practice. He is involved with a number of local charities as Trustee and treasurer.

Outside of work he is a keen gardener and enjoys reading.

Emma Harrison

Emma is relatively new to Midhurst and is pleased to put her History degree, and lifelong interest in all things heritage-related, to good use at the Midhurst Museum.  Emma’s particular skills are in fundraising and marketing.  Her special interest is medieval history and she enjoys discovering the local churches and bridges.  But her favourite exhibition to date has been “Babycham”.
